Construction Planner

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Construction Planner to join a tier 1 contractor for a high-profile £259m contract to build a cutting-edge Defence Facility. This project requires a skilled individual with experience in Asta Powerproject, NEC or JCT contracts, and the ability to work on-site five days a week. The successful candidate must also be eligible for Security Clearance (SC).

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Asta Powerproject software.
• Plan and coordinate construction activities, ensuring alignment with the project timeline and objectives.
• Work closely with the project management team, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Ensure compliance with NEC or JCT contract terms throughout the project lifecycle.
• Monitor and report on project progress, identifying potential risks and delays.
• Attend site meetings and collaborate with construction teams on-site, five days a week.
• Contribute to the preparation of progress reports, project forecasts, and time management plans.
• Manage project documentation and ensure accuracy and consistency in scheduling information.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Experience as a Construction Planner with extensive use of Asta Powerproject.
• In-depth understanding and experience with NEC or JCT contracts.
• Proven track record of managing large-scale construction projects (ideally in the defence sector).
• SC Clearance or eligibility to obtain it.
• Ability to attend the site five days a week.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

Desirable Skills:

• Previous experience working on defence-related projects.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
