We now have exciting permanent opportunities for a motivated and suitably qualified Construction Piping Engineer to join our Technical Communities based in the South West of England. Join us and be part of making a valuable contribution to the mega-infrastructure, Nuclear New Build project at Hinkley Point C (HPC).
Responsibilities:
- Managing the Contract Engineering Lead activities for the installation contract related to Balance of Nuclear Island piping construction activities
- Writing of the technical specifications for erection activities
- Updating of LDRC (List of Documents Required from the Contractor) and Surveillance Plan for BNI scope
- Answering Technical Queries
- Resolving construction Open Points
- Coordinating answers to Exemption Requests
- Coordination and reviewing deliverables from the Erection Contractors to support readiness of site erection activities.
- Reviewing installation specifications
- Supporting the Contract Engineering Lead (CEL) to manage Early Warnings.
- Supporting the construction Project Managers in the establishment of Key Performance indicators with the objective of reporting site progress for construction activities.
- Providing proactive reactivity and technical experience to enable site construction activities to be executed without blockers to delivery, by providing technical support/expertise to close all open points / technical queries raised by the construction contractor.
- Coordinating interface with Front Office teams in the answers provided for Field Change Requests / Non-Conformances from site.
- Ensuring integration of the needs for activities post-construction (completion team) into the construction sequence
- Coordinating all the engineering activities to support construction sequence, including the identification and implementation of improvements to processes and ways of working
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
- A relevant degree in engineering or science. If relevant, you should have achieved or be working towards chartership in that discipline.
- Piping-Mechanical installation and piping design experience
- Detailed understanding of Nuclear Pressurised Water Reactor (PWR) design and experience in PWR operations
- Good knowledge of CDM Regulations.
- On-site experience in a highly regulated environment
- Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication, and effectively influence diverse stakeholders.
