Job description

Job Title: Night Construction Manager

Carmichael UK is currently seeking an experienced Construction Manager for a night shift position to oversee a multi-discipline team as part of the UK s Ministry of Defence infrastructure upgrade programme. This role is crucial in executing site construction works safely and efficiently for both warship and submarine programmes.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the construction delivery team.
- Ensure compliance with CDM regulations and health & safety legislation.
- Manage stakeholder and supplier meetings for effective integration of project delivery.
- Emphasize nuclear safety and design intent throughout the construction process.
- Develop a robust safety culture and mentor team members.

Essential Skills:
- Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
- Strong awareness of construction processes, risk management, and compliance.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.

Qualifications:
- SMSTS certification and CSCS Card required.
- Security Clearance (SC or DV) desirable. Due to the nature of the job you MUST be British national and been in the UK for the past 5 years
- Relevant qualifications in a construction-related field.

This role requires 12-hour night shifts, with a schedule of 4 days on and 4 days off. Uplifts apply for weekday nights, Saturdays, and Sundays. x1.33 for weekday nights, x1.5 for Saturdays, 2x for Sundays.
