Construction Logistics Manager

18 Rec are currently looking to recruit an experienced Construction Logistics Manager to join our client overseeing the logistics on a £100 million commercial project in Manchester.

Key Responsibilities:

1. To manage logistics on site in accordance with company procedures and systems and monitor the construction process throughout.
2. To manage deliveries via the Msite online delivery system (Just-in-time deliveries) and ensure delivery schedules and logistics and traffic management plans are updated and issued to the site team and subcontractors on a regular basis (weekly). Use the Msite system to update delivery diary on a daily basis.
3. To manage the online inductions via Msite. Ensure Msite log in details and manuals are issued to subcontractors once pre-contracts are signed and liaise with Msite to ensure all problems in relation to using the system are resolved.
4. To maintain a daily site activity log (daily diary) on Work Wallet and Msite including photographs, to monitor and record progress for future use and reference and also keep an accurate record of deliveries completed, turned away or those that didn’t show up.
5. Understand all company electronic management systems and software required to undertake the role.
6. To attend meetings as required by the Contract / Project Manager.
7. Organise and chair on-site logistics meetings with the team and/or sub-contractors and suppliers as required.
8. To maintain good working relationships with the site team, client representatives, third parties and public.
9. To liaise with the site commercial team to assist in delivery of project margin and management of effective cost control.
10. To ensure that the highest possible safety standards are always maintained and that the appropriate safety culture is developed on site with the site team.
11. To be responsible for managing the hoist and hoist drivers, crane team (crane drivers, crane supervisors and slingers), traffic marshals, cleaners, security (Man guarding and CCTV), and forklift operators.
12. Supervise the management of the site plant authorisation and lifting accessories registers– supervise and develop site staff and ensure competency of individuals to carry out delegated duties.
13. Fully understand the site logistic arrangements and ensure compliant delivery of each element. Monitor the implementation across site and ensure that all associated checks and documentation are completed in accordance with company procedure.
14. To ensure site hoarding is in good condition, clean and tidy always and ensure that the site cabins and welfare are in good condition, clean and tidy.

2. NVQ L6 ideal not essential
3. SMSTS
4. IOSHH
5. Temporary Works coordinator
6. IT Literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
