Job description

JOB TITLE: Construction Lawyer (In-house)

PQE REQUIRED: 4+

LOCATION: Newcastle (Hybrid 3 days in office)

THE ROLE: Due to business growth, an opportunity has arisen for an additional Construction Lawyer to join our client's legal team. As part of a small but strong legal team, you will be at the very heart of the business advising on legal issues and reducing risk. The role will include;

  1. Reviewing and negotiating global project appointments
  2. Working with a range of stakeholders across the business on construction projects.
  3. Supporting the implementation of legal risk management policies.
  4. Management of the legal team (where relevant).
  5. Providing assistance to other areas, including data protection, IPR, property, and debt.
  6. Assisting the other members of the legal team on wider strategic projects.

THE CANDIDATE: Ideal candidates will be:

  1. Qualified Solicitors with 4+ years' PQE.
  2. Experience of professional appointments.
  3. Experience of construction contracts.
  4. Legal experience of construction law, preferably gained in a consultancy environment or with a client/contractor (nice to have).
  5. Great analytical skills and excellent legal knowledge.
  6. Ability to multitask, problem solve, and balance competing priorities.
  7. Ability to communicate effectively and confidently with a wide range of stakeholders.
