A top civil engineering contractor based near Coventry is seeking to employ an experienced Estimator to join their team long term. The role has come up due to the succession planning within the business for its pre construction team, and comes with the potential of a senior post within the business.

Rewards:

Salary and/or package circa £80,000 - £120,000 (dependent on experience)

Limited Company Status employment is fine

Types of work:

Civil Engineering Including: Foundations, Deep and Shallow Drainage, Retaining Structures, Balancing Ponds, Hard and Soft Landscaping, Earthworks, Concrete pads, Concrete Floors (inside and out), s278 works, s38 works, etc.

Duties:

• Take offs (sometimes)
• First Principle rates build up
• Gaining material and sub contract prices from the buying department
• Establishing and maintaining relationships with contractors and vendors
• Assessing the risk levels associated with a project
• Preparing and submitting quotations and details of costs for work to be done
• Reporting to Directors on Estimates
• Reporting any value engineering opportunities

Projects:

Each project is worth between £1m and £10m from a Civil Engineering perspective and works are from a subcontracting perspective on behalf of various blue chip building contractors.
