About the Company:

This business is one of the best in this sector. They specialise in taking projects from enabling works through to the completion of the frame. With focused teams handling remediation, demolition, groundwork, and concrete frame packages, they are well-equipped to handle packages ranging from £10 million to £50 million (or above) each. Their client base includes top-tier developers, main contractors, and direct users, and their sectors of work include residential, commercial, energy, infrastructure, and industrial. They have offices in and around London, with a large proportion of their workload inside the M25.

About the Opportunity:

I am looking for someone who is either already a Construction Director / Operations Director with a strong background working for rival RC frame and groundwork subcontractors in the UK, or someone who has hit a glass ceiling where they are and is in search of that next step up to Construction Director level (must be from a rival contractor in a Senior Contracts Manager or similar position).

If you've worked in this sector at either of those levels, you'll know what is involved in the day-to-day duties; your position will sit alongside the people at the top of the business and will effectively report to the existing board members while overseeing operations across multiple live sites where concrete frames, groundwork, and basements packages are being completed (package values range from £5m up to £50m each and you'll be responsible for a portfolio of £100m-£150m worth of work). You'll be expected to oversee and develop the site-based management and teams, while integrating with the various clients of the business to ensure projects are carried out in the best manner possible. While programme deadlines, budgets, and safety on every site are crucial, you'll also be one of the senior members responsible for developing client relationships and ensuring everything keeps moving in the right direction.

About the Requirements:

To be successful, I am looking for individuals who have worked in this position or who are ready for this position with a strong background working for concrete frame, groundwork, and basement subcontractors in the UK. It has also been specified that I am only to consider people who have held stable periods of time with each employer as this position is important and my client only wants to consider people who are in it for the long run. I would expect that individuals will either be degree qualified in civil engineering or construction management.
