Job description

Position Summary: The Conflict & Compliance Support the Operations team with project intake in compliance with DeSimone’s corporate risk and conflict of interest procedures. Oversee the Integrated Management System (IMS), ensuring certification to UK ISO Standards (9001, 45001, 14001).

I. Role Specific Responsibilities

Conflict of Interest

  • Obtain and validate the conflict check requirements to properly evaluate the conflict check (lateral candidate, potential client, litigation, arbitration, forensics, adverse party, etc.).
  • Communicate conflict check results, follow up on any missing information needed.
  • Generate project location and project reports, analyze for potential conflicts.
  • Update data in the project record and conflicts folders, ensuring project data integrity.
  • Conduct corporate research using internal and external information resources to confirm the accuracy of the information (case, project location, corporate entities, etc.).
  • Analyze and reply to responses concerning any potential or actual conflict.
  • Re-run conflict checks as projects progress and additional parties become involved.
  • File and maintain complete records of conflict check criteria, correspondence, results.
  • Maintain dashboard for conflict check status tracking.
  • Protect and maintain sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information.

ISO Integrated Management System (IMS)

  • Coordinate with external consultants and internal departments regarding IMS processes, procedures and audits, to maintain and expand ISO IMS certification in the UK.
  • Identifying risks and areas for improvement, facilitate root cause analysis to resolve problems, work with stakeholders to ensure corrective actions and preventive measures are tracked and implemented.
  • Prepare and/or update Standard Operating Procedures and other IMS documents to improve existing procedures and standardized forms.
  • Update and maintain the ISO compliance software and associated documentation, auditing, and reporting.
  • Conduct regular internal audits to assess the effectiveness of existing policies and processes to ensure compliance to applicable Standards.
  • Report on the progress (KPIs) toward the Company’s IMS objectives.
  • Recommend measures to improve the IMS.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to promote awareness and educate teammates on the IMS, its processes, and their role/responsibility in the IMS.
  • Stay updated on relevant regulations, standards, and industry best practices to ensure the IMS remains current.

  • Is familiar with legal terminology used for common business structures.
  • Willingness to travel as required, including to UK office sites for audits.

V. Internal Operations

  • Complies with business requirements such as completion of timesheets, correct utilization of project codes, completion of required training, etc.
  • Complies with Health, Safety and Environmental requirements, as applicable.
  • Seeks guidance from teammates or management where necessary.
  • Work with other teams across Shared Services, to ensure business goals and objectives are achieved.
  • Provide support to technical teams to meet business development goals and revenue generation.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 A-Levels or an equivalent qualification.
  • Maintain and develop computer literacy skills; including specialist software, Microsoft Office and Teams.
  • Proficiency with conflicts databases is preferable.
  • Experience in IMS certification and IMS related training preferable.

This position is classified as salaried, exempt. The hiring salary range for this role is anticipated to be 45,000 - 60,000 GBP dependent upon experience and qualifications.

For this particular position, we expect to hire near the middle of the range. To be considered for this role, we are looking for candidates with demonstrated experience in the compliance of corporate risk and conflict of interest procedures.

We understand that there may be rare and exceptional circumstances where an external candidate has experience, credentials, or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position. In these cases, we may consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.
