Elevation is re-establishing the boundaries of VR. We’re looking for an exceptionally talented Concept Artist to help us explore, create, and deliver world-leading innovation in software and VR hardware. As one of the core members of the Elevation team, you will be pathfinding a remote-first studio crafting a new generation of VR development and bringing quality VR games to fruition.

As a Concept Artist, you will lead the creation of concepts, working closely with art directors, designers, and other team members to brainstorm ideas, iterate on designs, and ensure alignment with project goals.

You will be expected to demonstrate proficiency in addressing a diverse range of subject matters, exhibiting a strong understanding of realistic human and creature anatomy, material properties, environments, and props.

Requirements

  1. Performance and accountability – a commitment and focus to producing concept work of the highest standard to time and budget.
  2. Communication – Excellent verbal and visual communication skills to effectively present and discuss ideas, concepts, and designs with team members.
  3. Collaboration – Adeptness at working closely with art directors, designers, and other team members to brainstorm ideas, iterate on designs, and ensure alignment with project goals.
  4. A strong set of core skills – including composition, great attention to detail, and the ability to employ a clear creative process from reference and feedback development to the final style, finishes, and execution.
  5. Versatility – showing an aptitude to tackle a wide range of subject matters from stylised to realistic, showing a good understanding of realistic human and creature anatomy, material properties, environments, and props.
  6. Creativity – The ability to generate original and imaginative concepts that align with project requirements and artistic direction.

Additional qualifications include:

  1. A degree or equivalent qualification and/or at least two years of experience in complementary industries.
  2. An aptitude for new software, tools, and technology, including a good knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and a reasonable understanding of Unreal Engine.
  3. Experience of working within a team.
  4. Employ a clear design process from reference, conception, exploration, concept development, to final style, finish, and execution.
  5. Demonstrate versatility with traditional and digital 2D techniques, showing an aptitude to tackle a wide spread of subject matters, finishes, and forms.
  6. Attention to detail, creating inventive visual solutions to design and wider developmental questions.
