Due to ongoing growth in the IT Department, they are looking for a passionate and experienced Computing Lecturer to join their team.
Role Overview:
As a full-time Computing Lecturer, you will be responsible for delivering dynamic and engaging lessons for Level 3 BTEC and T-Level courses, primarily focused on areas such as software development, networking, artificial intelligence, coding and other relevant topics. You will play a key role in shaping the academic and professional futures of the students, providing them with the skills and knowledge required for the rapidly evolving technology sector.
Key Responsibilities of a Computing Lecturer:
- Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality lessons across Level 3 BTEC and T-Level Computing qualifications.
- Teach a range of topics including software development, networking, artificial intelligence, coding and other core subjects.
- Provide a student-centered learning environment that encourages academic and personal growth.
- Assess and evaluate students' progress, providing constructive feedback and support for continuous improvement.
- Develop and update course materials in line with industry trends and academic standards.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress and performance.
- Participate in departmental meetings, professional development activities and college-wide initiatives.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of teaching practices and curriculum delivery.
Essential Criteria of a Computing Lecturer:
- A full UK recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent).
- Relevant subject knowledge and expertise in software development, networking, artificial intelligence, coding and related areas.
- Previous experience teaching Computing at further education and training level or secondary school.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students.
- A commitment to delivering high-quality education and supporting students in their learning journey.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to departmental goals.
- A current DBS check on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience teaching Level 3 BTEC and/or T-Level qualifications.
- Industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft, etc.) would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of current trends and developments in the computing industry, including emerging technologies like AI and cloud computing.
