Job description

Talent STEM is working with an innovative biotechnology company at the forefront of nucleic acid research, seeking a Computational Scientist with expertise in molecular dynamics (MD) simulations. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a cutting-edge team developing next-generation predictive modelling tools for ground-breaking technology.


Location: North East England
Salary: £42K - £55K (Dependent on Experience)
Contract: 24 months (Potential for Permanent Role)


The role:

  1. Design, execute and analyse MD simulations of chemically modified nucleic acids
  2. Model conformational changes, interactions and flexibility within nucleic acid systems
  3. Develop and optimize simulation protocols for enhanced predictive modelling
  4. Work closely with an interdisciplinary team to validate and integrate findings

What you'll need:

  1. PhD in a physical science (with a molecular focus)
  2. Strong background in molecular dynamics simulations
  3. Proficiency with MD software (e.g., GROMACS, AMBER, OpenMM)
  4. Python scripting experience for data analysis and automation
