About
An opportunity has arisen to join the exciting world of Formula 1. This client is actively recruiting for a skilled Composite Design Engineer. The successful candidate will work with colleagues and related engineering functions within Vehicle Design to support the delivery of the most advanced, high-performance, and reliable designs within agreed timeframes, optimizing mass, stiffness, and design for manufacture. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership and responsibility for specific car components or assemblies that can deliver performance enhancements to the car.


To be successful in this role, you will have:
A solid understanding of the delivery of engineering designs and drawings of composite components, laminates, and assemblies in accordance with defined standards and procedures.


Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Work collaboratively with Principal / Senior Engineers and Program Managers to define deliverables and project scope, ensuring all requirements are met.
  2. Proactively address faults, manufacturing queries/feedback, NCRs, and other related departmental tasks.
  3. Take ownership of key aspects of the Vehicle Design Vision, Goals, and Strategy to create a best-in-industry, high-performance design team.
  4. Act as the technical authority for their project (if requested) when the Principal / Senior Engineers are not present.
  5. Deputize for Senior Engineers, if requested, and report back to peers and project groups (Faults, Design Reviews, etc.).
  6. Demonstrate a track record of advanced and reliable design solutions with supporting calculations and unambiguous engineering drawings.

Ideal Candidate:

  1. Can communicate effectively with other engineers, both written and verbal, while supporting the wider organization, including Manufacturing, Quality, Prototype and Test, Trackside, etc.
  2. Holds a degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace, Marine, or another related engineering discipline.
  3. Has a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role, ideally within the motorsport industry.
  4. Enjoys problem-solving, thinking critically, and working collaboratively.
  5. Experience using NX is essential, and Teamcenter experience is highly desirable.
