Introduction

With a history spanning more than 100 years and remaining family owned, the Sauter Group is a worldwide market-leading specialist in developing, manufacturing, and delivering Building Management Solutions (BMS) for large prestigious commercial and residential properties throughout the UK.

In addition to the delivery of full scale BMS projects, Sauter has a long established distribution network for the supply of core component products, including valves, actuators, and peripherals.

As this distribution channel is continuing to grow with greater demand for Sauter's quality products, we are now seeking a Components Sales Account Manager within the South of the UK.

The individual will be part of a dedicated team which includes technical support, regional sales, and administration support. With ownership for promoting and increasing sales through this important business channel, the individual will own the relationship with a network of distributors and be responsible for directly managing the growth of these regional partners.

There will be a requirement to be flexible to travel to meet the needs of the business and the role; however, this role can be office or home-based, depending on the location of the successful candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Work with the Head of Component Sales to formulate a strategy for the region to carry out regular visits to the core distributor network, establishing strong relationships and delivering solutions that increase the volume of sales.
  2. Become the “go-to” point of contact for the distributors in the region for advice, queries, and support.
  3. Provide estimates and competitive proposals to deliver on client expectations.
  4. Work closely with the Components team sharing information and experiences with the Technical and Administration support functions.
  5. Promote workshops and training on the Sauter product range to Distributors, Systems Integrators, FMs, and end clients to raise awareness of the Sauter product range and to ensure Sauter becomes the selection of choice.
  6. Prepare and deliver technical presentations explaining products or services to OEM prospective customers by fostering new technical solutions with the Sauter product and by disrupting existing competitor relationships.
  7. Collaborate with the internal Sauter sales, technical, and engineering teams to gather necessary information and insights for precise estimations and support in final BMS & Smart Building presentations.
  8. Identify new potential clients, establish contact, and develop new business relationships, ultimately securing new sales.
  9. Maintain and update the CRM package to capture all activities and opportunities.
  10. Monitor the operation of the competition and advise the Company regarding changes of price, delivery, and technical merit.
  11. Prepare monthly reports and updates to feed into the overall Company performance reporting.

What we are looking for in an individual:

  1. Minimum 3 years' experience of working in the UK BMS industry, preferably in the Sales / Distribution sector.
  2. Can demonstrate a proven track record of delivering year-on-year material growth in a sales role.
  3. Highly driven with financial and commercial acumen. Takes accountability to deliver sustainable results.
  4. Experienced in HVAC and Mechanical plant operation.
  5. Strong commercial acumen and able to make good business judgment decisions.
  6. Highly motivated individual, capable of working in a team and alone.
  7. Has a strong understanding of either Sauter or a competitor's components products, valves, actuators, and peripherals.
  8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  9. Accomplished problem-solving capability coupled with the ability to manage complexity and ambiguity.
  10. Be an effective collaborator and business partner with a track record of earning trust and respect of operational and functional colleagues.
  11. Exceptional high level of attention to detail and looks to continued levels of process improvement and efficiency.
