Job description

Compliance Technologist - Ethical & Sustainability Focus

Are you passionate about ethical trade, sustainability, and driving real-world change in the fresh produce industry?

We are on the lookout for a Compliance Executive to join the Technical & Buying team. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in ensuring sourcing and supply chain meet the highest ethical, compliance, and sustainability standards.

What you'll be doing:

  • Maintain and update compliance documentation in line with retailer requirements.
  • Monitor KPIs and generate reports to support strategic decisions.
  • Oversee ethical compliance across the supplier base - from due diligence to Sedex verification and SAQ completion.
  • Support and verify effective grievance mechanisms and worker representation.
  • Manage ethical audits and risk assessments, ensuring critical issues are followed up and resolved.
  • Liaise with packhouses, suppliers, and internal teams to uphold compliance at every step.
  • Attend sustainability forums and industry working groups like FNET.
  • Build and maintain a knowledge base of supplier sustainability initiatives and progress.

  • Experience in the fresh produce industry and knowledge of compliance systems.
  • An understanding of ethical trade standards (e.g., ETI Base Code) and retailer requirements.
