Fresh People are working on behalf of a leading fresh produce business to recruit a Compliance & Sustainability Assistant offering a fantastic opportunity to join a progressive business committed to responsible sourcing and supply.
This role is ideal for someone with a background in food science or environmental disciplines.
The Person
Passionate about sustainability, compliance, and working with global supply chains.You ll play a key role in supporting and delivering technical compliance and sustainability initiatives from ethical due diligence and food safety to monitoring environmental impacts and sustainability performance.
Key Responsibilities
Liaise with suppliers to collate, review and file accurate due diligence documentation on internal and customer platforms.
Monitor and report on compliance throughout the supply chain lifecycle.
Manage daily chemical surveillance testing schedules for inbound produce.
Conduct supplier recall and traceability exercises to support robust food safety practices.
Maintain approved supplier lists for internal and customer use.
Collate, review and analyse environmental data from suppliers, including metrics on food waste, carbon emissions, water usage, and sustainable farming certifications.
What We re Looking For
A degree in Food Science, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or a similar scientific discipline.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Power BI.
Experience working with online sustainability platforms and managing large datasets.
Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
The ability to work both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Excellent project management, organisational, and communication skills.
A proactive mindset with a strong work ethic and ability to meet deadlines.
