Compliance Sanctions Analyst

Join a Leading Compliance Team,

A leading Insurance group is seeking a dedicated Compliance Sanctions Analyst.

This role offers a unique chance to be part of a dynamic team within a reputable organisation that provides comprehensive insurance products, underwriting services, and broking.

Reporting to the Head of Compliance, the Sanctions Screening Analyst will support the Compliance Team in maintaining regulatory compliance across the Group.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting thorough screening of transactions and customer relationships to identify potential sanctions risks.
  • Performing due diligence and risk assessments on new and existing clients, particularly in maritime activities.
  • Analysing and investigating transactions, escalating potential sanctions violations as necessary.
  • Developing and implementing sanctions compliance policies and procedures.
  • Providing training and updates on sanctions laws and regulations.

Skills and Experience Required:
  • Experience in a sanctions role within the insurance market, preferably with knowledge of the marine market.
  • Proficiency in sanctions regimes and international licensing, particularly UK, EU, or US requirements.
  • Ability to complete KYC processes and reach conclusive decisions.
  • Understanding of Terms of Business Agreements (TOBAs) and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills for effective interaction at all levels.
