Eden Scott's client is seeking a Compliance & Risk Analyst to join their Edinburgh operations on a hybrid basis. Our client provides outsourced investment administration and custody services to wealth managers, family offices, and professional advisers. Due to ongoing growth, they are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Compliance & Risk Analyst to join our dynamic Risk & Compliance team.

As a Compliance & Risk Analyst, you will play a key role in ensuring a strong compliance and risk-aware culture across the organisation. You will assist in maintaining regulatory standards, ensuring ongoing compliance with financial services legislation, and contributing to the development of effective risk management procedures. This is a varied and hands-on role with opportunities to contribute to critical business functions, compliance monitoring, and regulatory change projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and promote an effective risk and compliance-aware culture across the company.
  • Report on the Compliance Monitoring Plan; maintain accurate records of all monitoring activities.
  • Identify areas of weakness and propose improvements to procedures, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and internal risk frameworks.
  • Maintain the Compliance Manual and Compliance Framework documentation.
  • Conduct regulatory horizon scanning and assess the impact of new regulations; assist with implementation.
  • Draft and update internal policies, compliance reports, and related documentation.
  • Design, deliver, and monitor regulatory training and compliance attestations for staff.
  • Prepare and submit periodic FCA regulatory reports.
  • Provide timely regulatory advice and respond to ad-hoc compliance queries.
  • Conduct and review due diligence checks on clients, suppliers, and customers.
  • Participate in business change projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Escalate significant compliance issues promptly and appropriately.
  • Assist with complaints and risk event handling.
  • Support financial crime prevention efforts, including AML monitoring.
  • Prepare documentation for Governance Committees, Audit & Risk Committee, and the Board.

Person Specification

  • Experience in a compliance, risk, or regulatory role within financial services.
  • Strong knowledge of FCA regulations and financial services legislation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proactive, analytical, and detail-focused approach.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively across teams.
  • Experience with regulatory reporting and compliance monitoring desirable.
  • Familiarity with financial crime, AML practices, and risk event management advantageous.
