Job description

We are seeking a dedicated Compliance Officer to ensure our client adheres to legal standards and in-house policies. The ideal candidate will possess a strong business acumen with a sound understanding of legislation, compliance frameworks, and policies.

Description

The Compliance Officer will report into the DPO in the Kent HQ and will have responsibility for supporting all areas of ethics & compliance.

This will include oversight and implementation of the global compliance framework.

You will:

  1. Develop and oversee control systems in legal guidelines and internal policies including:
    • Anti-bribery and Corruption
    • Modern Slavery
    • ESG & Sustainability
    • Sanctions
    • Cybersecurity, AI & FOSS
  2. Revise, draft & implement policies & procedures and report periodically on risks.
  3. Collaborate with in-house counsels and DPO to monitor the enforcement of standards and regulations.
  4. Assess the business's future ventures to identify possible compliance risks.
  5. Review the work of colleagues when necessary to identify compliance issues and provide advice or training.
  6. Keep abreast of regulatory developments within or outside of the company as well as evolving best practices in compliance control.

Profile

A successful Compliance Officer should have:

  • A degree in law, finance, business administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Compliance Officer with a focus on Anti-bribery and Corruption, Ethics, Modern Slavery, etc.
  • Good knowledge of the data protection standards and regulations.
  • Excellent knowledge of reporting procedures and record keeping.
  • A business acumen partnered with a dedication to legality.
  • Methodical and diligent with outstanding planning abilities.
  • An analytical mind able to 'see' the complexities of procedures and regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills.
