Compliance Manager - Top Tier Hedge Fund

Job Description

Top ranking and long standing Multi Billion Hedge Fund is looking to attract a Compliance Manager for its growing business.

Global fund with multi jurisdiction coverage to include Europe, US and Asia across diverse investment strategies and product suite.

London is the fund's HQ and therefore a key hub for all strategic decisions and plans for growth and scale. Compliance plays a central role in said decisions.

This newly appointed Compliance Manager will cover a diverse remit of duties and lead all regulatory matters for the EU entity. Key duties will include:

1. Leading the fund's compliance program.
2. Partnering with senior management, department heads and trading on all regulatory matters.
3. Regularly presenting to the board.
4. Ensuring the fund maintains a robust compliance control framework as well as automating said frameworks and looking for more efficiencies.
5. Continuous risk assessment of the entire compliance program working with tech to spot gaps and opportunities for enhancement.
6. Investment advisory to trading.
7. Trade compliance monitoring.
8. Maintaining various regulatory registers.
9. AML and sanctions.
10. Oversight of compliance manual, core compliance and all core processes and procedures.
11. Horizon scanning and staying close to market developments and best practice, regularly presenting back to the board and senior management.
12. Training, mentoring and managing a small junior team.

Experience required

1. Strong buy side compliance.
2. Asset Management, Hedge Fund or Consultancy.
3. Broad compliance coverage, investment compliance and trade compliance monitoring of particular importance.
4. Strong asset/product coverage.
5. Confidence in presenting to senior management and board members.
6. Confidence in dealing with traders and investment teams.
