Job description

Charnwood Borough Council in Leicestershire is searching for the latest member of the Repairs & Investment Section.

We are looking for a passionate individual who is customer focused, a team player and wants to help improve our local communities in Charnwood.

The Council is recruiting for a Compliance Manager.

You will play a lead role in the successful management of our compliance work streams namely: gas, solid fuel, electrical, lifts, fire safety, water hygiene and asbestos. You will also manage new heating installations; electrical upgrade works and fire risk assessment works. You will procure contracts and ensure compliance with contract conditions and that works are completed to the relevant statutory and regulatory standards.

With the ability to successfully work in partnership, you will ensure that our customers’ objectives around high quality, communication, and customer care are met. You will ensure that programmes are delivered in line with agreed budgets, and that key performance indicators are met.

The role requires the candidate to demonstrate substantial experience and knowledge of the current legislation of compliance work streams and preferably hold a degree level education or the ability to demonstrate equivalent experience. An appropriate gas or electrical qualification is desirable, and qualification as set out in the person specification and hold a clean driving licence and have access to a vehicle to undertake duties on site.

You will also have experience of managing and supervising a small team of surveyors and administration support staff.
