Let us tell you a bit about the opportunity

The Compliance Manager, Governance and Reporting SME reports into the Group Compliance Director. The purpose of the role is to ensure that the Group's governance and reporting frameworks meet regulatory standards and internal policies. You will play a key role in developing and implementing compliance oversight, promoting a culture of integrity and transparency, and supporting the Group's compliance objectives.

What will your day look like?

The role will report into the Group Compliance Director, who will be your line manager and responsible for things like performance review meetings, 1-1s and development conversations.

The role of Compliance Manager (Governance & reporting SME) is really important to us. You will be responsible for:

  1. Act as the primary SME on governance and reporting requirements across the Group aligned to FCA and PRA requirements.
  2. Develop, implement and maintain governance and reporting frameworks to ensure compliance with FCA and PRA requirements.
  3. Manage and enhance reporting processes for compliance issues, breaches, and incidents, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness.
  4. Prepare and deliver compliance reports for internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies, ensuring they meet regulatory expectations and internal standards.
  5. Lead the preparation of regular governance and compliance updates for senior leadership, board committees, and external regulators as required.
  6. Provide strategic compliance advice on governance and reporting to support business objectives while maintaining regulatory alignment.

What do we expect from you?

We are looking for someone that is passionate about their area of expertise and has extensive experience in the banking sector in the UK.

  1. An expert in regulatory compliance, governance, and reporting within the financial services industry.
  2. Strong knowledge of UK regulatory frameworks, as well as industry best practices in governance and reporting within the financial services industry.
  3. Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to communicate complex regulatory concepts to non-specialist stakeholders.
  4. Ability to influence and engage with senior management and build collaborative relationships across the bank.
  5. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
