Regulations & Compliance Manager (Part-Time)

Lifecycle Software is a leading specialist software supplier within the Mobile Telecommunications sector. We offer OCS (Online Charging System), billing and BSS (Business Support System) solutions for network operators, MVNOs (Mobile Virtual Network Operators), IoT providers and a wide range of partners. Primary Role

In 2014 Lifecycle gained ISO27001 accreditation, and in 2019 ISO9001. Other key areas in this role include GDPR monitoring and telco industry regulatory changes. There exists a well-defined internal audit process which supports continuous improvement and the annual re-accreditation of certifications. Part of the Regulations and Compliance Manager's role will be to manage the ongoing ISO processes and GDPR compliance.

This role is offered on a part time basis at 2 days per week (or similar).


Key Accountabilities:
  1. Managing ISO27001 and ISO9001 annual audit processes and associated internal audits including the follow up of actions allocated to others
  2. Acting as Data Protection Officer
  3. Act as main point of contact with the ICO
  4. Liaise with customers regarding their data protection needs
  5. Promote data protection awareness and understanding across Lifecycle
  6. Be responsible for monitoring and reporting on GDPR compliance
  7. Escalate and report any areas of concern identified to the Senior Management Team with a plan of action
  8. Define and document new policies, procedures and working practices for current or future regulatory compliance, including the latest ISO update
  9. Ensure senior management team are kept up to date on changes in legislation that have an effect on our business
  10. Proactively monitor regulatory changes in the telco industry and their application for our clients
  11. Work with the Information Services and Technology team to update policies on data security and breach management
  12. Lead employee training on compliance related topics, policies or procedures - including induction days
  13. Provide advice and direction across the organisation in understanding the risks relating to non-conformance to regulations.
  14. Promote a culture of robust regulatory compliance and continuous improvement
  15. Document management; including ensuring all documents, policies, procedures, guidance, check lists are tracked, reviewed, up to date and stored correctly.

About you

You will have worked in a similar role, be that ISO compliance or Data Protection, with a record of driving compliance for the business, ideally leading the function or department or working closely with senior management team. You will need to have strong communication and documentation skills and be able to pro-actively get things done whilst contributing to organisational and cultural awareness and change. Being a self-starter and leading all things compliance is key, and so is awareness of commercial implications of regulatory changes for us and our clients. Professional, tenacious and results driven with a confident approach will enable you to be successful at Lifecycle.


Required employee skills and experience
Essential
  1. Similar role or evidence of involvement in regulations, contracts and compliance monitoring
  2. Degree level or equivalent qualification
  3. Knowledge of the General Data Protection Regulations
  4. Experience of the management of ISO Security/Compliance Auditing
  5. At least 5 years' experience of working with Senior Leaders to deliver change or results
  6. Experience of working collaboratively with staff of all levels across an organisation
  7. Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint with a high level of accuracy in all work undertaken
  8. Pro-active, adaptable approach, able to work both independently and collaboratively
  9. Thorough and accurate auditing & documenting experience
  10. Strong communication skills to inspire and educate others

Desired
  1. Telecommunication and software industry knowledge will be of benefit

The successful candidate will be rewarded with a competitive salary, and an opportunity to make this role their own. The role is offered on a part time basis with hours to suit (typically we would expect a part time role to be 0.4 FTE worked over 2-3 days). The vacancy is flexible, based in the Newbury office or as a remote role, and the successful candidate will be a self-starter who is willing to work autonomously. The benefits package includes 24 days holiday plus 'your birthday off', holiday buy/sell options and a stakeholder pension (benefits pro-rated based on hours).
