Compliance Manager needed in Portsmouth Paying £31.34 per hr ref 5266279

Full time hours on a temporary basis

Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Compliance Manager to ensure our statutory compliance duties are met for our HRA residential stock of nearly 17,000 dwellings and 900 corporate assets. The ideal candidate will manage and develop staff, oversee compliance activities, and strive for 100% compliance in all service areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure statutory compliance duties are met for HRA residential stock and corporate assets.
  2. Manage and develop staff responsible for compliance activities and strategic repair contracts.
  3. Continuously improve services to achieve 100% compliance.
  4. Ensure accuracy and robustness of compliance certification and documentation.
  5. Manage staff and service budgets within your area, approximately £10m per annum.
  6. Develop, implement, monitor, and review compliance policies and procedures.
  7. Stay updated with legislative and industry changes to ensure statutory duties are met.
  8. Facilitate training and support across Building Services and the wider HNB directorate.
  9. Lead procurement of strategic service contracts and frameworks.
  10. Manage mechanical & electrical service and repair contracts to meet statutory compliance.
  11. Collaborate with Assistant Directors and Heads of Service to support service delivery needs.
  12. Work with the Head of Compliance and Head of Asset Management to inform capital works programs.
  13. Provide compliance-related advice across Building Services as necessary.
  14. Ensure HRA and General Fund assets meet service and customer needs while being economically sustainable.
  15. Horizon scan to identify emergent issues and ensure a suitable response.
  16. Assume the role of Responsible Person/Deputy Responsible Person regarding Water Safety.
  17. Participate in the Directorate's Out of Hours escalation process on a rota basis.
