Job description

Compliance Manager
Location: Stockton-on-Tees
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000
Hours: 08:00 - 16:30 Monday - Friday
Type: Full Time, Permanent

We are currently recruiting for a Compliance Manager to work for an award-winning scaffolding and safety systems business based in Stockton on Tees.

Responsibilities:
  1. Plan, prepare, and lead external audits for awarding bodies such as ISO, RISQS, Constructionline, IRATA, CHAS, FASET.
  2. Complete tender packs and pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQs), ensuring all information is accurate and up to date.
  3. Develop, improve, and implement the HSEQ Management System to comply with legislative requirements and applicable external standards.
  4. Review and update policies, procedures, registers, forms regularly to ensure they are current, understood, and monitored across the business.
  5. Implement and manage document control for the HSEQ and business management system.
  6. Produce analytical data from company systems to present in monthly HSEQ meetings.
  7. Conduct in-depth internal audits, create internal auditing schedules, and ensure robust policy evaluation.
  8. Maintain and update SSIP portals, ensuring no accreditations lapse or expiration.
  9. Manage the business's internal HSEQ legal register, ensuring ease of access and clarity.
  10. Provide administrative support to the HSEQ team.
  11. Manage employee training records and arrange external training (e.g., first aid, rescue, supervision, and management courses).
  12. Perform data entry, documentation, printing, and filing tasks.
  13. Ensure computerized HSEQ systems and registers are accurate and frequently updated.
  14. Monitor subcontractor/supplier databases and correspond as necessary.
  15. Create HSEQ dashboards, including trend analysis for accidents, incidents, near misses, and other key performance indicators.
  16. Develop and implement quarterly HSEQ themes and campaigns.
  17. Prepare presentations and act as the primary contact for HSEQ compliance within the business.
  18. Take minutes during meetings and create detailed action plans.
  19. Send out weekly/monthly HSEQ packs to the operations team.
  20. Monitor the HSEQ mailbox and appropriately file necessary items.
  21. Manage the development of a user-friendly HSEQ management file structure.
  22. Coordinate and assist with the preparation of HSEQ training sessions.
  23. Oversee the documentation and resolution of all accidents, incidents, and near-miss cases, ensuring accurate records are maintained and any outstanding information is promptly followed up and closed out.
  24. Administer the business Harness Inspection register, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements by verifying inspections are completed and all relevant information is accurately recorded.
  25. Monitor and manage all operational HSEQ KPIs, issuing regular reminders to the operations teams to ensure timely updates and completion.
