Alecto Recruitment are partnering with a well-established figure in the Anaerobic Digestion sector who are actively looking for a Compliance Officer to assist with the Health and safety on their portfolio of Anaerobic Digestion Facilities.

The Role:

1. Manage and review documentation (COSHH, Risk Assessments, SOPs, Toolbox Talks).
2. Set and track KPIs, reporting to senior management, analyzing incidents/near misses, and identifying corrective actions.
3. Ensure compliance and best practices by liaising with department managers.
4. Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to site procedures.
5. Organize quarterly health and safety meetings to address issues.
6. Monitor compliance across departments (Transport, Operations, Engineering, Commercial).
7. Perform gap analysis and update risk assessments as needed.
8. Standardize SOPs and deliver related training.
9. Communicate and implement new legislation for compliance.
10. Contribute to ISO45001 implementation and lead assigned tasks.
11. Foster a continuous improvement culture in H&S.
12. Monitor KPIs, analyze trends, and produce reports.
13. Research and implement appropriate H&S software.
14. Support PAS110 and environmental audits, ensuring document control.

Skills and Qualifications:

1. The successful candidate will be qualified in IOSH and NEBOSH.
2. Good standard of formal education, including GCSE Maths and English (Grade A* - C) or equivalent.
3. Level 5 CMI management qualification and/or a lean/continuous improvement qualification is desirable.
4. Has a good understanding of Occupational Health & Safety in the Manufacturing Industry.
5. Previous experience of auditing against ISO 45001 accreditations.
6. Good IT skills including Microsoft Office and Excel.
7. Excellent communicator, both written and verbal, at all levels.
8. Must be self-motivated and driven, with the ability to make decisions at an appropriate level.
9. Have the ability to work under pressure whilst meeting tight deadlines, prioritising workload to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner.
10. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
11. Must hold a valid clean, Full UK Driving Licence for UK travel.
