Compliance Engineer (RS Pro)
Corby, Northants (On-site)

We've got an exciting opportunity for someone to join our team of Compliance Engineers based out of our state of the art Evaluation Lab here at RS Corby.

With no two days the same, you will be getting hands-on with new and existing products, and ensuring that all articles are safe, compliant and reach the high quality standards that RS Pro are renowned for.

We provide ongoing training and development, so if you don't already have all the following experience, don't worry, we are here to help!

What you will be doing:

  1. Conducting evaluation of Private Label articles to ensure products are safe and comply with relevant requirements of Product, Trade and Transport Compliance for the applicable markets.
  2. Providing support to the commercial function on aspects of Product, Trade and Transport Compliance for existing and prospective RS PRO articles.
  3. Monitoring and assessing the potential impact of forthcoming product and other related legislative requirements that may impact the business and sales process.
  4. Providing support for the development and delivery of training in relevant areas of Compliance to appropriate audience.
  5. Supporting achievement of the commercial KPIs by adoption and driving of continuous improvement within the Compliance function.
  6. Providing support for investigations, ad-hoc testing and evaluation services to the business where required.
  7. Liaising with external agencies and 3rd party test houses where additional engineering or compliance services are required.
  8. Contributing to the centre of excellence for compliance, product evaluation and engineering. Sharing knowledge and facilities where appropriate.
  9. Providing Technical Support to Product and Supplier Management, Sales and Marketing Teams.

What we are looking for from you:
  1. Previous experience within a hands-on product compliance role.
  2. Good working knowledge of issues relating to international trade compliance.
  3. Able to communicate confidently and effectively with various stakeholder groups in the business, both in writing and verbally.
  4. Ability to build relationships and work with Stakeholders across the business.
  5. Ability to prioritize and take a risk-based approach.
  6. Ability to distil large amounts of information and present a case in a clear way.
  7. Demonstrate the ability to challenge, identify risks and issues, and facilitate development of practical options.
  8. Knowledge of how current Global processes and systems impact - both positively and negatively - the customer experience.
  9. Experience of embedding compliance across a multi-national business organization.
  10. Personal resilience, confidence and willingness to challenge on all areas of the business, on management of compliance risks and processes.
  11. Exposure to, identification of, and implementation of external best practice.
