Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join us working in a Resource Hub in a friendly mainstream school in Birmingham (B45). The successful candidate will be passionate about providing exceptional support to complex SEND pupils from Reception and Year 1 ages.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Supporting teachers in the delivery of lessons and ensuring pupils with SEND have full access to the curriculum
  2. Providing tailored 1:1 or small group support to children with a range of special educational needs
  3. Assisting with classroom management, helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
  4. Encouraging social, emotional, and academic development of the pupils
  5. Supporting the implementation of specific learning strategies and interventions for SEND children
Requirements:
  1. Enhanced Child and Adult DBS – you must have a current or be willing to apply for an enhanced DBS check
  2. Previous experience working in a SEND school setting
  3. A calm, patient, and compassionate approach to working with children
  4. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
  5. A genuine desire to support and empower children with additional needs
  6. Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and a commitment to child welfare
  7. Willing to work Monday-Friday (8.30am-3.30pm) on a full time, long term basis
