Job description

Prospero Teaching is looking for passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with complex needs in a resource base provision within a Primary School in Small Heath, Birmingham.

The school is an OFSTED rated Good mainstream Primary School with a supportive SEND team. They are looking for enthusiastic and nurturing SEN support staff who can develop good relationships with children with additional needs.

This is a full-time role to start asap and will continue for the rest of the academic year.
Previous experience working with special needs and challenging behaviour is essential - the ideal candidate will have previously worked in a SEN school setting or provision.


CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS
Location - Small Heath, Birmingham
Position - SEN TA - 1:1 / Group Support
Type of work - SEN Teaching Assistant - Supporting children with complex needs
Start date - Jan 2025
Duration / Likely Duration - Long term opportunity for the rest of the academic year
End date (if applicable) - July 2025
Contract type - Temporary
Full time/part time - Full time
Minimum rate of pay - Minimum rate GBP 86.40 per day
Hours - 8:20 am - 4pm (full day)


EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualifications - SEND experience
  • Previous experience working in a UK school - in either permanent or long-term roles
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year


TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child related references that cover the last two years
