About the role
As a Complex Care Support Worker, you will provide high-quality care and support to a 79-year-old gentleman who lives with his family in Shrewsbury, Oswestry. He is a retired Army Officer who enjoys watching films, engaging in interesting conversations, and has a good sense of humour. Additionally, he needs assistance with personal care/continence needs, medication, PEG feeding, and activities inside and outside of the home. He lives with a spinal injury affecting mobility, coordination, strength, and sensation. He uses a Molift and electric wheelchair and is independent while in his wheelchair.
You will work with a friendly and supportive team of professionals who will help you develop your skills and knowledge in complex care. You will also have the opportunity to build a trusting and respectful relationship with the gentleman and his family, who are very hands-on and helpful. You will support him with activities in and outside of the home, depending on his condition and preferences.
A Registered Nurse will support competency assessment and ongoing supervision.

Excellent rates of pay: Week Days - £13.00 per hour... Weekend Days - £13.30 per hour.

Skills and Qualifications required for the role
To be successful in this role, you will need to be kind, caring, and patient. You will also need to work independently and as part of a team, and have a flexible and positive attitude. Good attention to detail and observation skills are essential, as well as the ability to recognize when the gentleman is in pain or needs assistance. You should have some experience in supporting individuals with complex care needs, or be willing to undergo training and supervision.
You will also need to work every other weekend as part of your rota.
