Competition Event Manager

A vacancy has arisen at England Athletics for a Competition Events Manager, on a permanent basis. The individual will be responsible for the execution of the England Athletics Championship programme, including execution of the Track and Field Indoor and Outdoor programme and relationship management for Championship Partners for off track events. The vacancy holder must be able to work 21st July – 31st August 2025. Time off in Lieu will be given.

The role will focus on supporting the Competition Events Manager with helping to produce and deliver site plans for each event including risk assessments, event scheduling and liaising with venues regarding security, security briefings and evacuation plans. The role will also include brand planning and liaising with key stakeholders, while also working with external partners and suppliers to ensure events run smoothly and that the events that are delivered reflect and reinforce the core values of England Athletics.

The individual should already have knowledge of athletics and the layout of athletics events, through previous work experience in major sport events in an operational capacity. This should include knowledge of creating risk assessments and Event Management Plans, as well as having knowledge of how to manage the Athlete and Spectator experience within a stadium setting. The individual must hold a UK driving License and have access to a car.
