Job Description:

DMJ has been instructed by a major UK insurer in their search for their next Company Secretary and Head of Legal.

This insurer has been enjoying exponential growth over the past years, as they have been expanding internationally. Offering scope to build a legal team from scratch, and grow the existing governance function with three direct reports, this mandate is unique in the market.

The responsibilities you can expect include:

1. Providing legal and company secretarial advice and support to the Chairman and the Board,
2. Advising on UK banking and financial services law and regulatory matters,
3. Providing general transactional and legal support, as well as legal advice on client relevant and other literature across the business,
4. Providing legal guidance on new product development,
5. Supporting the business in terms of new and existing strategic initiatives,
6. Managing a team of three direct reports, and growing the team in line with the business requirements,
7. Managing a variety of the business's boards, managerial and otherwise,
8. Ensuring compliance with current governance regulations and systems.
