Our client is a well-established charity that provides many services to the local community of Wakefield and the surrounding areas. These services support all ages, and the charity is well respected locally.
They now need a community wellbeing coach to join their team and support the integrated neighbourhood team by providing support to local people who require encouragement, coaching, and motivation to pick life back up after an illness or a life event and reintegrate into social situations and events.
The requirement could stem from a variety of situations that have resulted in a local person feeling isolated. Tasks may include meeting for a cup of tea and encouraging them to be out and about more, through to encouraging and enabling someone to go out after becoming blind, helping them to use public transport and accompanying them until they are confident to do this alone. There are many people who access the charity for community support and guidance. This role is to assess each person and conduct one to a few visits before passing to a volunteer who will then keep in touch. A record of notes from each visit will be entered into the data system for safety.
