Job Description
Role Purpose
- Address anti-social behaviour problems in the council and coordinate action to ensure that the Council response is informed, appropriate and draws on effective practice.
- To educate and work in partnership with relevant organisations to enhance the safety and well-being of the public.
Responsibilities
- To demonstrate a commitment to the Council’s Equal Opportunities Policy and the ability to understand and implement the policy in relation to the job responsibilities.
- To ensure compliance with your responsibilities as laid out in the council’s health and safety policy and take an active role in promoting a positive health and safety culture.
- To promote and participate in the council’s individual performance appraisal and development initiatives and information management best practice.
- To ensure compliance with the council’s information security policies and maintain confidentiality.
- In accordance with the Immigration Act 2016, where the role is customer-facing and the post holder is required to speak to members of the public, the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
Requirements
- Be responsible for technical and other equipment required for the efficient performance of duties, including operating expertise and interpretation of results.
- Provide professional, expert and up to date technical advice to businesses, Members and key stakeholders.
- To issue letters, notices, legal documents, formal cautions, warnings, and other documents as required by legislation, guidance and policies.
- Keep abreast of legislative, technical and professional developments in relation to anti-social behaviour legislation and policy.
- In line with authorisation, carry out investigations, instigate and prepare prosecutions, attend court proceedings and deliver evidence in the event of statutory action taken for breaches.
- To ensure full compliance with established legal procedures and legislation relevant to the preservation of evidence and court procedures, including PACE, CPIA, RIPA and similar.
- Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, find innovative solutions to problems and influence stakeholders to adopt best practice approaches to meet Council and Statutory outcomes.
- Contribute to the development of strategies, policies and statutory plans in relation to anti-social behaviour and associated services.
- Work as required to deliver objectives set out in operational plans and service plans to achieve high standards of service delivery.
- Contact management as a matter of priority in respect of any item which is, or appears to be, of a serious nature and could impact service delivery.
- To undertake other reasonable duties consistent with the grade and level of the post.
