Job description

Band 6 Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN) - Coventry

Service Care Solutions is recruiting for a Band 6 Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN) to work on a full-time contract within the NHS in Coventry. This role operates Monday to Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM, offering a competitive pay rate of £27 per hour (LTD/Umbrella).

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Clinical Duties:
    1. Medication Management - Ordering, monitoring, requesting prescriptions, administering medications (including depot injections), safe disposal of sharps and confidential waste, and documentation.
    2. Caseload Management - Overseeing patient care and ensuring effective treatment plans.
    3. Risk Assessment & Crisis Response - Attending daily risk meetings, responding to urgent crises, and escalating risks when necessary.
    4. Assessments & Interventions - Conducting patient assessments, care planning, and liaising with appropriate professionals and third-sector organizations.
    5. Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) Working - Attending ward rounds, tribunals, and professional meetings.
    6. Safeguarding - Raising and managing safeguarding concerns and attending Section 42 meetings.
    7. Legislation & Compliance - Working within relevant laws, policies, and procedures, including MHA, GDPR, and Human Rights regulations.
    8. Clinical Administration - Preparing reports, managing referrals, maintaining accurate records, and completing relevant paperwork.
  2. Non-Clinical Duties:
    1. Supervision & Mentoring - Providing and attending supervision sessions, mentoring students, and engaging in training.
    2. Leadership & Delegation - Chairing meetings, deputizing when required, and ensuring compliance with lone working policies.
    3. Business & Operational Responsibilities - Attending business meetings, maintaining accurate calendars, and requesting necessary equipment.
    4. Health & Safety Compliance - Conducting clinic room audits, health checks, and ensuring compliance with trust policies.
Requirements:
  1. Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) qualification.
  2. Experience working in a community mental health setting.
  3. A valid NMC registration.
  4. Knowledge of NHS policies and procedures.
  5. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
