Job description

About Mixcloud

Mixcloud is on a mission to help connect people through music. We're building a space where every genre and sub culture within music can thrive, championing the grassroots communities behind each one.

Inspired by the creativity that goes into every mix, track, radio show and live stream, a genuine love of what we do runs through our team.

We celebrate the individuality and imperfections found within content created and curated by people, not algorithms, and bring that real element to our own output.

Even as a digital platform, there is a human touch to all parts of the experience.

The Role

We’re seeking a passionate Community Manager and active Mixcloud user who is deeply connected to music and DJ culture to join our Marketing team. You will be the direct link between Mixcloud and our creators, communicating key messaging, educating them on product features and gathering feedback in line with company objectives. You will use a mixture of data, research and connections to source creators for our marketing, ensuring we celebrate their work and support their growth. Meanwhile you will identify and onboard key off-platform communities that correspond with our goals.

You are tech-savvy and knowledgeable about a range of communication modes, adapting your style to resonate with different communities. You are the voice, tone and moderator of our brand through community listening and will work to build brand presence trust both online and in-person.

What You Will Do

  • Craft community-oriented communication strategies to improve awareness, understanding and use of the Mixcloud platform
  • Find innovative ways to educate creators about Mixcloud’s products including video tutorials or webinars
  • Communicate with our community at scale and humanise their interaction with Mixcloud’s brand via direct dialogue on social threads, post comments and Discord
  • Gather and report feedback and developments in both directions
  • Use understanding of creators and their needs to develop impactful copy for our marketing pages, write engaging content for email and contribute insightful ideas to team workshops
  • Unearth success stories and creators to feature across our marketing touchpoints
  • Identify and engage with new creators for us to partner with, on-board and grow
  • Explore and implement new ways to engage with and reward our community
  • Be the face and voice of the Mixcloud brand, evangelising our products and connecting with key communities

Minimum Requirements

  • 3-5 years experience as a Community Manager for a brand
  • Familiar with and comfortable using the Mixcloud Platform
  • Knowledgeable and inquisitive about diverse genres and emerging scenes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to craft engaging and authentic copy and messaging
  • Familiar with online community tools, CRM systems and social media platforms
  • Creative problem solver capable of managing multiple tasks and working independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Team player who can collaborate across departments while taking ownership of community-focused projects
  • Ability to articulate ideas and present to the wider company
  • Growth mindset, continuously upskilling and self learning
  • Happy working in a remote-first environment
  • Based in the UK

We have a remote-first work culture, although we still have an office in London (Brick Lane) available for anyone to use. This includes an onsite cafe and access to cultural events; Weekly members’ drinks, Monthly Tea @ 3, and Monthly Community Lunch. Weekly wellness events (yoga, meditation boxing etc). We’re a culturally active bunch, with many of us pursuing our passions as DJs, radio hosts or creatives.

We cater weekly lunches and host quarterly team on sites and social team mixers. We offer a great benefits package that includes generous holiday, flexible working, and healthcare benefits.

Mixcloud is committed to being a diverse and inclusive workplace. We encourage applicants of different backgrounds, cultures, genders, experiences, abilities and perspectives to apply. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, colour, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, age, physical disability, or length of time spent unemployed.
