Role

Every day people with chest, heart and stroke conditions are leaving hospital scared and alone. You can be part of our mission to make sure that there is no life half lived in Scotland.

By joining Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland (CHSS) as a Community, Events & Corporate Fundraiser (Mass Community Participation Specialism) you can be the difference between people just surviving and really living.

You will be part of Scotland’s leading charity providing support to people with chest, heart and stroke conditions to live life to the full again. Our Community Support Service forms a nationwide network of local support groups, nurses, volunteers and one-to-one support teams helping families adjust to life with a heart or lung condition or after a stroke.

Organised, motivated and a confident communicator, you’ll be responsible for driving income and building relationships in your area, to ensure we have the funds needed to continue our life-changing work. We welcome applicants from a variety of backgrounds including (but not limited to) events, education, account management, marketing, fundraising and sales.

With creativity and ambition, you’ll be responsible for developing the mass community participation strand of our income generation strategy. The focus will involve producing an exciting school’s proposition, developing our ‘do your own thing’ fundraising campaign and growing our Tartan Tea Party into year 2 of its journey. Managing volunteers and making links within your community will also be key – no two days will be the same!

You’ll be joining a hard-working and talented fundraising team, working closely with the Community, Corporate and Events Fundraising Manager as well as the wider fundraising team. You’ll cover Fife and Forth Valley and Tayside, so we welcome candidates based within the patch or those who live nearby, have a car and are willing to travel.

We are looking for people with great organisational skills, energy, passion and enthusiasm, who are experienced at developing relationships, and can manage a busy and varied workload. This is a chance for you to channel your passion for relationship building to make a real impact on the health of people in Scotland.

CHSS also supports flexible recruitment through Working Families and we are “Happy to Talk Flexible Working”.

In line with our commitment to safeguarding, this role is subject to a Basic Disclosure check. CHSS is committed to equality of opportunity and to providing a service which is free from unfair and unlawful discrimination. We therefore aim to ensure that no applicant, volunteer or member of staff is unfairly treated on the grounds of offending background.
