Job Title: Community Engagement Officer
Salary: £17,500 per annum
Location: Imperial Apartments, Whitchurch Lane, Hengrove, Bristol BS14 0TJ
Hours: 20 hours per week across 3 days
Contract Type: Part Time
The role
Community Engagement
- Organise, communicate and deliver a monthly programme of events for residents, on and off site
- Work with vulnerable residents who are identified as in need of support, providing advice and signpost to appropriate external service providers
- To network, build contacts, identify resources and develop partnerships with relevant external agencies and support providers
- Carry out regular welfare checks on residents
- Liaise with residents on community activities/initiatives to encourage resident engagement and participation
- Stay abreast of current legislation and good practice, ensuring tenants are able to access appropriate benefits and support
General Fundraising
- Build relationships with local businesses/partners that can add value to our work
- Research fundraising opportunities and write grant applications to charitable trusts or statutory bodies
- Build relationships with donors or gifting companies
- Manage information and record the profile and fundraising activity of donors on a database
- Identify and submit applications for prizes and awards that will raise the profile of Caridon
- Devise and organise fundraising campaigns
- Raise funds for our cause and regularly meet or surpass fundraising targets
- Assist in brainstorming and creating new methods to raise funds for our organisation
- Increase funds by researching and targeting charitable trusts whose criteria match the charity's aims and activities
- Comply with all grants reporting as required by foundation/corporate donors
- Participate in monthly Grant Management meetings and provide a matrix of proposed and current corporate and government grants, such as their status and critical deadlines
- Take the initiative to remain informed on key funding issues in public and private funding
- Provide monthly statistics
Project Management and Delivery
- To manage and deliver the projects that we obtain funding for
- To be able to create projects that will be attractive to funding bodies
- To work in partnership with communities and key stakeholders on the delivery of projects across Bristol assets
Communications
- Contribute to the production of the Annual Review and Group Newsletter, including writing, liaising with printers and designers, distribution to donors
- Ensure social media fundraising and communications information is up to date
- Collate case studies, photographs and information from the field and provide to Public Relations
Volunteers
- Advertise and recruit volunteers as required to support the functions of the fundraising team where necessary
- Carry out volunteer inductions
- Manage and supervise volunteers

What are we looking for?
- At least two years' experience in corporate fundraising
- Proven record of successful applications for substantial funding from Trusts and other grant-making bodies
- Demonstrable ability to develop relationships with funding partners
- Experience of researching funding opportunities
- Project management of community initiatives and projects
- Experience of delivering projects with a range of stakeholders and communities
