The Role

  1. To support people to live as independently as possibly.
  2. Assist with all activities of daily living, including personal care through to complex care.
  3. Facilitate and accompany on day trips and in fun activities.
  4. Assist with the preparation of meals and other food and drink.
  5. Sitting and companionship services.
  6. Assist in the community by taking service users to essential appointments and helping with everyday activities such as shopping or medication collections.
  7. Undertake light housework tasks such as vacuuming, sweeping, washing, ironing, and dusting.
  8. Maintain clear and accurate records.
  9. Ensure health, safety, and well-being of the service users and themselves.
  10. Maintain regular and courteous contact with the branch manager.

  1. Reliable with an excellent work ethic.
  2. Provide the highest standards of care and support.
  3. Respect the individuality and confidentiality of the service users.
  4. Respect the service user’s independence and authority, be mindful of their wishes and always treat them with fairness and courtesy.
  5. Ensure and adhere to strict standards of health and safety thereby ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of the service users and themselves at all times.
  6. Willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.
  7. Have a valid driving licence, own transport with business insurance.

Desired Skills

  1. Previous experience is advantageous; however, not essential as comprehensive training will be provided.
  2. Excellent communication skills – good standard of spoken and written English.
