We are currently recruiting to a CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrist position in the Chelmsford CAMHS Team (Mid Essex), which is split between Stapleford House, Stapleford Close, Chelmsford CM2 0QX and Harkenwell Clinic, Wantz Chase, Maldon, CM9 5DN.

This is a new, substantive, part-time post - 6 Programmed Activities (PAs) post with 4.5 Direct Clinical Contact activities (DCC) and 1.5 Supporting Professional Activities (SPAs). This post is currently vacant, and we wish to recruit to this position as soon as possible.

You will join another 2wte CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrists within the service and will have the opportunity to influence future direction, treatment, and models of design in the area in which you work.

Job responsibilities

You will be expected to:

  • Work as part of multidisciplinary teams providing care to children and young people with mental health needs, across Mid Essex.
  • Provide senior medical support and guidance to the team.
  • Work directly with young people and their families and liaise as appropriate with other external CAMHS mental health providers and acute hospitals.
  • Participate in the on-call rota frequency is currently 1:7, with a 2% of basic salary, Category B on-call supplement (pro-rata).
  • Support your peers and team leader and be an effective team member whilst allowing them to work with their own initiative.
  • Commit to collaborative working, actively supporting, and liaising with other health and social professionals, and agencies.
