Job description

At Leader Education, we are seeking a Community based Tutor to support children within the community. The role is based in Northumberland and it is desirable that you hold a full UK driving license as you may be required to travel to multiple bases within the local community. Previous experience working with young people as well as a genuine interest and commitment to helping them reach their full potential is essential for this role.

The normal working pattern is Monday to Friday 8:30 until 15:30.

The successful Candidate will:

  • Candidates will need an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check or the willingness to obtain one
  • Have a passion for teaching and learning with the ability to make learning enjoyable and fun
  • Support the development of social and emotional skills
  • Prepare and adapt learning materials to meet the needs of students
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a commitment to collaborative working
  • Monitor and manage students' wellbeing and behaviour
  • Ensure safeguarding protocols are followed in line with the company's policies and procedures
  • Provide 1-2-1/small group tuition
