Salary Level HEW 6 + 17% Superannuation

About the role

Exciting opportunity to join the External Affairs and Media team as Communications Advisor – Social Media, where you will be part of a small, dynamic and creative team that supports the strategic objectives of the University by managing RMIT’s public presence across all major social media platforms.

With a focus on amplifying research, thought leadership and student life, you will be responsible for working with stakeholders across the organisation to develop best practice digital content and provide expert advice backed by insights and analytics.

With a view to helping protect and position the RMIT brand, you will also support social listening and community management, helping to identify and manage potential reputational risks and compliance requirements.

To be successful in this position, you will have:

  1. Experience in a highly effective social media function and involvement in the development of creative social media-based content.
  2. Demonstrated experience in communications planning, delivery and measurement that contributed to strategic organisational objectives.
  3. Experience in working with data and stakeholders to identify emerging and unmet needs and to develop solutions.
  4. Proven ability to create and/or curate video and audio content and to use it to strengthen social media communications strategies.
  5. Demonstrated flair for visual communication, in particular the production and appropriate use of imagery, and experience in photography.
  6. Excellent communication skills and demonstrated passion for delivering creative and impactful communications experiences.

Please Note: Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children and National Police Check.
