Job description

Job title: Commissioning Manager
Job Type: Contract
IR35 Status: Inside IR35
Start date: Subject to clearance
Duration: 12 Months
Pay rate: £68-£69 p/h - PAYE
Location: Reading
Hybrid/Remote Working: Hybrid Working Available
Hours of work: Up to 40 Hours Per Week

Role information:

  1. Author the facility commissioning strategy, and commissioning plans in line with work breakdown structure.
  2. Produce the commissioning schedule in line with project master integrated schedule.
  3. Verification and Validation of commissioning activities and documentation.
  4. Ensure commissioning processes are robust, fit for purpose, and effectively implemented across the delivery team.
  5. Collaborate with Suppliers, Site Operations, Nuclear Services, the Operational Control Centre, and other commissioning teams to foster strong cross-disciplinary relationships.
  6. Report to the Operational Readiness Manager, achieving key project milestones and providing progress updates in alignment with project requirements and deliverables.
  7. Ensure safe procedures are applied consistently for all testing and commissioning across allocated work packages.
  8. Witness Factory Acceptance Testing, Setting to Work, and Site Acceptance Testing in both inactive and active commissioning phases. Manage test failure resolution.
  9. Management, oversight and delivery of commissioning work packages within a complex infrastructure project.
  10. Understand the requirements of Commissioning procedures and ONR License Condition 21 Commissioning and ensure the commissioning framework developed demonstrates compliance.
  11. Support the project management and deployment teams, and ensure a collaborative approach of the Overall Project Commissioning Strategy.

Qualifications/Experience Required:
  1. Honours Degree in relevant discipline or equivalent demonstration of competence through skills, knowledge, and experience.
  2. Working towards professional accreditation through a recognised governing body.
  3. Willingness to retain appropriate security clearance.
  4. Expertise in mechanical, process, electrical, or instrumentation and control.
  5. Strong understanding of nuclear safety protocols and procedures.
  6. Proven ability to manage and oversee complex commissioning processes.
