Job Title: Commissioning Engineer (Water Sector)

Location: South

Contract Length: 6 Months

IR35 Status: Outside IR35

Rate: £425 to £450

My client is seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer to join the team for a 6-month contract within the water sector. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a high-profile project, ensuring the successful commissioning of water treatment and supply systems. This role is outside IR35, offering flexibility and competitive rates.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Plan, manage, and execute commissioning activities for water treatment and wastewater systems.
  2. Ensure all commissioning procedures align with project specifications and industry standards.
  3. Work closely with design, construction, and operations teams to ensure a seamless transition from installation to operational use.
  4. Conduct system performance tests, troubleshoot issues, and implement necessary adjustments.
  5. Prepare and maintain detailed commissioning documentation, including test plans and reports.
  6. Ensure all health, safety, and environmental standards are met during commissioning activities.

Requirements:

  1. Proven experience in commissioning within the water industry (clean water, wastewater, or related sectors).
  2. Strong understanding of water treatment processes, mechanical and electrical systems, and control instrumentation.
  3. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, and specifications.
  4. Hands-on experience with SCADA and PLC systems is desirable.
  5. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  6. Relevant engineering qualifications (HNC/HND/Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Process Engineering).
  7. Full UK driving license and willingness to travel to site locations.
