Job description

Thames Water is seeking a proactive and analytical Commissioning Analyst to join our dynamic Smart Metering Operations team.

What you will be doing as the Commissioning Analyst

In this key role, you’ll take charge of streamlining and enhancing the journey from meter installation to commissioning and ensuring every exception is tackled efficiently and every process runs like clockwork. With your keen analytical eye and data-driven insights, you’ll support smarter, faster operational decisions while collaborating with internal teams, service partners, and stakeholders to keep everything flowing smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand and support the end-to-end meter installation and commissioning process.
  • Monitor data flows and manage exceptions to ensure accuracy and success.
  • Analyse failures and provide actionable, data-led insights.
  • Generate detailed reports and monitor dashboards to track performance.
  • Identify and escalate issues promptly for resolution.
  • Raise and manage incidents via ServiceNow.
  • Work closely with internal teams, vendors, and partners.
  • Provide clear analysis to support operational decision-making.

What you should bring to the role:
  • Strong skills in Excel, SQL, Power BI, and Azure Data Warehouse.
  • Experience using ServiceNow or similar incident management tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
  • Familiarity with Agile, UAT, and standard office IT systems.
  • Knowledge of smart metering, utilities, or water infrastructure is highly desirable.
  • Desirable: experience with SaaS, SAP, Salesforce, or other CRM platforms.

Base location: Hybrid - Worcester House, Langley SL3 6EY.

Hours: 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
