Job DescriptionJunior Commercial Gas Engineer – FM Service Provider – Hatfield, Hertfordshire – £42,000

Are you looking to get into commercial gas?

CBW Staffing Solutions is currently recruiting for a Mobile Commercial Gas Engineer to carry out planned and reactive commercial maintenance across a large commercial building in Hatfield. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of Facilities Maintenance and have a proven track record in commercial building maintenance.

This position would be ideal for someone looking to get into commercial gas or in a similar position who is looking for a role close to home. In return, the company is offering a competitive salary of up to £42,000 with a potential route into further career progression. The successful candidate will have a background in plumbing, domestic gas wanting to get into commercial gas or someone with previous experience as a commercial gas engineer. Extensive experience in commercial building maintenance is essential. The ideal candidate will have experience in boilers, burners and boosters.

Package & Working hours

  • Basic Salary of up to £42,000
  • Monday – Friday 08:00 am – 17:00 pm
  • Travel time paid other than first and last half hour
  • 1 hour paid lunch break.
  • Holidays: 33 days – 25 standard with 8 stat days

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Deliver services, repairs and maintenance throughout commercial properties.
  • Perform reactive maintenance throughout client portfolio of properties.
  • Self-deliver smaller installations.
  • Cover a portfolio of contracted buildings repairing and maintaining various systems.
  • Diagnose and identify faults and failures within the equipment.
  • Order and fit parts or components to the equipment when required.
  • Conduct reactive and planned commercial maintenance.
  • Provide high level of customer service and build strong relationships.
  • Ensure all key performance indicators (KPI) / service level agreements (SLA) are met.
  • Provide a multi-skilled maintenance service, covering electrical, mechanical and building fabric disciplines.

Requirements

  • Ability to service and fault find on commercial gas appliances using electrical testing equipment.
  • Ability to use own initiative to problem solve in challenging situations.
  • Industry standard completed apprenticeship.
  • Full clean driving license.
  • Reliable, punctual, and flexible to support the role and all members of the team.
  • Able to work alone under limited supervision.
  • Able to operate handheld electronic device.
  • Domestic gas qualifications – CENWAT, Gas boosters – BMP (Desirable).
  • Commercial Gas qualifications (Desirable).
  • Forced draught burner experience (Desirable).
