Commercial Projects Lawyer


Our client, a well-respected national law firm, is seeking to strengthen its Energy & Resource Management team with the addition of a Solicitor or Associate. The role is suited for a solicitor with a background in commercial contracts, infrastructure, or energy infrastructure. The team is known for its expertise in delivering cutting-edge energy and infrastructure projects, particularly in the context of renewable energy, energy from waste, carbon capture, and decarbonisation.


This is an exciting opportunity to work in a rapidly growing team that advises both public and private sector clients on high-profile, market-leading projects. The role offers a hybrid working environment with a flexible approach, and you will have the chance to contribute to a variety of innovative energy projects.


The Role:

As a Commercial Projects Solicitor/Associate, you will be involved in a broad range of exciting and impactful work, including:


  1. Supporting on the procurement, development, and delivery of energy and infrastructure projects
  2. Advising clients on energy projects such as energy from waste, solar PV, battery storage, district heating, and more
  3. Using your commercial acumen to deliver strategic solutions for both private and public sector clients
  4. Developing and managing long-term client relationships
  5. Working closely with senior team members and having exposure to high-profile transactions

Candidate Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have:


  1. 1-5 years' PQE
  2. Experience in commercial contracts, infrastructure projects, or energy infrastructure (direct energy sector experience is not required)
  3. A keen interest in the energy sector with a passion for learning and excelling in this area
  4. Strong technical skills and the ability to approach complex issues in a pragmatic, commercially focused manner
  5. The ability to work collaboratively within a team, sharing knowledge and experience
  6. A flexible approach to working, with the ability to thrive in a hybrid environment
