Job description

Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trusts

Saving lives, saving NHS money and transforming services for patients - that's our mission at Health Innovation East Midlands (HIEM).

This is an opportunity for a commercially focused individual to join our Commercial team directly supporting healthcare innovators. The successful applicant will work across the East Midlands and the Health Innovation Network, contributing to innovator support programmes designed to enable improvements in clinical outcomes, deliver better patient experiences, contribute to driving down the cost of care and stimulate economic growth.

The ideal candidate will have account management experience including utilising a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. The role will appeal to those who enjoy hybrid working, predominantly working from home, with some expectation to work in our Nottingham office when required and travel occasionally for meetings, events, and conferences. Knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS) would be advantageous.

This role is offered on a permanent basis, at an Agenda for Change (AfC) Grade 6.

This role has been advertised before and previous applicants need not apply, as previous applicants will not be shortlisted.

Closing date is Sunday 9th March 2025.

Applicants for interview will be notified on Friday 14th March.

The date for interview is Friday 21st March 2025 in person at our Nottingham office. A short presentation will be required.

Main duties of the job

The successful post holder will be responsible for leading on some key Commercial projects vital to the development and growth of HIEM, including a particular focus on the delivery of external programmes offering support to innovators and providing commercial support to internal HIEM developments.

The Commercial Project Officer role provides effective support for our industry and innovator focused activities. The role acts as a key interface between Health Innovation East Midlands and Regional (and relevant wider UK based) life sciences and healthcare commercial companies and social enterprises.

The role not only coordinates support for innovators but is also a connector between the NHS and our Innovation partners. The role maintains and manages these relationships and that of our key partners and national bodies within the innovation eco-system to ensure we grow our innovation pipeline and business activity. The post holder must be well organised, able to work under direction and their own initiative and be skilled at data analysis and reporting of impacts. The main duties evolve and adapt dependent on the needs of the various HIEM stakeholders, and identification of new projects and programmes of work.

The post holder will be predominantly home based with an expectation to be at HIEM office on the University of Nottingham Innovation Park when required and with some travel throughout the East Midlands and occasionally nationally.
