Job Description
Founded in May 2015, Papier is a London based start-up, which has raised £60m+ million since launch. Papier’s collection of stationery products, from notebooks & diaries to notecards and wedding invitations, is designed to feed curiosity and contemplation, to invite people to uncover the possibility of a blank page. The business is growing and internationalising rapidly, particularly experiencing growth in the US across both D2C and wholesale channels.
We are looking for a Commercial Planning Manager (FTC) to join Papier’s small but mighty Commercial Planning Team. You’ll be responsible for maintaining the right balance between product availability and inventory costs while ensuring our customers' needs are consistently met across our D2C and wholesale channels. As an agile, fast-growing start-up, you’ll have the exciting opportunity to help shape your function and you’ll get a lot of exposure and responsibility in your role from day one. We’re looking for someone who’s commercially-minded and detail-orientated with extensive demand planning experience who can hit the ground running to join our friendly team.
Please note that this is a fixed term contract for 6 months, with the potential to extend to 12 months by mutual agreement.

You genuinely love working with numbers and have exceptionally high attention to detail.
You default to data for decision making and are comfortable analysing large data sets.
You love identifying and solving hard problems.
You are proficient in advanced Excel; Netsuite, Netstock and Looker experience is an added bonus.
You are adept at winning friends and influencing people.
You are confident working cross-functionally, and managing upwards, downwards and sideways.

You have very clear written and verbal communication, and proactively find ways to keep the wider team in the loop on what you’re working on.
You do your best work in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment.
You’re excited to work in a function that’s still establishing its processes, reporting, tooling and ways of working, and will proactively take the lead in driving this.
You always get the important stuff done and can juggle many priorities at once.
You have a can-do attitude and are willing to roll up your sleeves and get stuck into a wide range of tasks, including admin.
You’re always looking for ways to drive growth, efficiency and productivity.
You’ll be comfortable being the most experienced commercial planner in our business, and being part of a small team with only one direct report.
You’ll be responsible for:
Stock Planning:Developing and maintaining accurate demand forecasts at item level by analysing historical sales data, market trends and customer behaviour across our D2C, wholesale and Amazon channels.

Developing and maintaining detailed spreadsheets to track and analyse demand, supply and inventory data.

Developing an excellent working knowledge of the Papier ERP system (Netsuite) and ensuring all stock information is accurate and admin is maintained.
Resolving discrepancies in demand and supply, analysing root causes, and recommending actions to prevent future issues.
Constantly monitoring sales, stock and commitment.
Creating reports to analyse sales performance and stock health on a weekly, monthly and seasonal basis, and presenting these findings to the wider business, including leading our monthly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) meeting.
Identifying and sharing demand trends, key deviations, and volume and stock risks and opportunities, and recommending appropriate trading actions.
Pulling commercial insights to share with the wider business.
Actively driving improvements in our processes, reporting, tooling and ways of working to ensure we’re working efficiently and productively.
Establishing new processes, reporting, tooling and best practices, alongside potential new system roll-outs.
