Commercial Pipe Fitter

Our client who has been providing buildings support to local authorities, social landlords, NHS trusts and private sector clients for over 40 years is now looking for a Commercial Pipe Fitter to join their team handling various projects around London and the Southeast. They are offering an attractive package with a salary of £46,800 to £53,800, Company Van and benefits such as life insurance.

Successful candidates will carry out heating and hot water installations within occupied commercial buildings and Schools. Candidates will look to exceed client expectations, completing the requirements to each contract to a high standard and within an appropriate time frame.

Commercial Pipe Fitter Job Overview

1. Keep daily site logs, taking site inductions, and updating the relevant paperwork within the site folder.
2. Installing in commercial boiler rooms including boilers, pumps and mild steel welded and screwed pipework.
3. Fitting copper and stainless-steel press-fit pipe and fittings from 15mm - 108mm.
4. Installing mild steel screwed pipework and fittings from 20mm - 150mm.
5. Understanding pipework schematic drawings and follow to install as per the drawings when these are available.
6. Complete small to medium sized boiler room and heating/hot water installations without the assistance of any pipework drawings.
7. Install various styles of radiators and fan convectors including low surface temperature types.
8. Identify associated risks with working in educational premises.
9. Draining down and re-filling of heating system/s in order to remove and replace leaking pipework and associated isolation valves and understand the technical working of different types of systems.
10. Make sure all work carried out complies with the relevant sections of the 'Health and Safety at Work Act' (risk assessment, asbestos awareness etc).

Commercial Pipe Fitter Job Requirements

1. 3+ years experience in a similar role and sector.
2. Asbestos Awareness and ACSs qualifications advantageous.
3. Demonstrate a clear understanding of commercial heating installations and hot and cold-water service.
4. Experience working in commercial buildings and educational establishments.
5. SSSTS and or SMSTS and Class two in MMA welding.
6. Knowledge of the risk assessment process.
7. A flexible approach to work, potentially working some evening (overtime rate provided).

Commercial Pipe Fitter Salary & Benefits

1. Salary: £46,800- £53,800 (£20- £23 an hour).
2. Overtime available at overtime rates.
3. Monday to Friday, 45 hours a week, 7am- 4pm.
4. Holiday Package: 21 days + 8BH increasing based on service.
