We’re seeking a Commercial Operations Director to lead a high-performing commercial team and drive the successful delivery of major programmes. This role requires strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and strategic commercial oversight to ensure effective risk management, value for money, and timely programme delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement robust commercial strategies across Capex and Opex programmes.
Oversee post-contract management to ensure adherence to frameworks and risk controls.
Lead commercial negotiations and agreement development for complex programme delivery.
Monitor supplier performance, KPIs, and manage contract changes through structured governance.
Ensure budget accuracy and transparency in reporting to senior stakeholders.
Identify and manage commercial risks, trends, and provide proactive solutions.
Build strong internal and external stakeholder relationships.
Lead, mentor, and develop the commercial team to ensure capability and continuous improvement.
Drive innovation and efficiency across commercial processes.
Essential Skills & Experience:
Degree-qualified and/or member of a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS, CIPS).
Proven leadership experience with excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
Strong track record in managing complex, high-value contracts.
Expert knowledge of contract law and dispute resolution.
Commercially astute with strong analytical and financial skills.
Experience in procurement and commercial management of major programmes, ideally in infrastructure or construction.
